Children can visit new places, meet exciting people, learn how to cope with emotions and feelings, experience creative thoughts and imagination and learn the appreciation of literature. Storytime will create in children the desire to read and will spark a lifelong love of books!
Ooey and Gooey Age: 3 - 6 4 weeks Through science, children learn to observe, question, explore, experiment, predict, and solve problems- skills they will continue to use throughout their lives. Science taps into the natural curiosity children have about the world around them. Come See science, Hear science, Touch science, Taste science, and Smell science!
1 + 1 = 2 Age: 3 - 6 4 weeks Children learn about math from play and daily activities. When Math is interesting, useful and fun, children will have successful experiences and develop a positive attitude about Math. Throughout the day children will use Math and learn in ways that are natural to them. .
With My Own Hands Age: 3 - 6 4 weeks From finger painting with chocolate pudding to gluing leaves and flowers on paper, from making objects with clay to drawing with chalk on the sidewalk, Art helps children grow creatively, socially, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Through art children develop self expression!
Wake Up Sleepyheads Age: 2.5 - 6 and parent 4 weeks Morning Songs + Daily Exercises= A great way to start each day for kids! Stretching, clapping and touching their toes, kicking, skipping and even making a wish- children are encouraged to work their bodies while having lots of fun!
Coffee and Crayons Age: 2.5 - 6 and parent 4 weeks You set the stage and we provide the atmosphere where wonderful things can happen- a place where children and their parents can freely express themselves through art and socialize with each other. Crayons and Coffee will be provided.
Alphabet Soup with Salsa Age: 2.5 - 6 and parent 4 weeks Learning a second language sharpens a child’s awareness, skills and usage for the child’s first language. During childhood language learning happens effortlessly. Knowing another language expands the mind and opens doors to future opportunity.
Toddlers in Action Age: 2.5 - 4 and parent 4 weeks Sharing playtime with Tots gives them a great start in life. Join the fun and discover the world through creative play, and exploration. We’ll have a sing-a-long with silly songs, coordination activities and creative movements.
From Bach to Rock Age: 2.5 - 4 and parent 4 weeks Babies are born with the highest music aptitude they will ever have. Exposure to music during toddler years enhances children’s emotional development. Hands will be clapping, Feet will be tapping and we’ll be singing from Bach to Rock!
Pre-School Fall 2007 — Winter 2008 The North Berwyn Park District Preschool Program is dedicated to creating a delightful learning environment for children. We provide well-balanced and age-appropriate curriculums for children between ages 3-5. Our traditional finger plays, songs, games, and group activities are unique to the needs of all children. We encourage children to be creative and provide them with the tools they need to proceed to the next step. NOTE: Proof of residency and a copy of the child’s birth certificate are due at the time of registration. Registration will not be taken after December 14 for the Preschool program.
2-Day Classes Age: 3 - 4 These classes offer your child an early social awareness of others, and build self-confidence in a nurturing environment. Your child will explore important concepts including letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Classes are fun-filled with music, songs, wonderful stories, and art projects. All concepts are presented through hands-on learning with the emphasis being fun and discovery! NOTE: Child must be 3 years old by Sept.1, 2007.
3-Day Classes Age: 3 - 4 In these classes your child will be a part of an array of activities including art projects, games, dancing and music! Your child will socialize with new friends, while also learning the basics of colors, shapes, numbers and the alphabet! Watch your child discover and grow! NOTE: Child must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2007.
4-Day Classes Age: 4 - 5 In Pre-K children are encouraged to explore on their own as much as possible. They do their own drawing, painting, experimenting, buttoning, etc. Through fun and educational activites, we take every opportunity to help each child develop responsibility and self-esteem. NOTE: Must be 4 years old by September 1, 2007.
