NBPD COMMUNITY CENTER — 1619 Wesley Avenue GOOGLE MAP
The Community Center serves as home to the district’s administrative office. It was initially constructed in 1982 and had an addition built in 1989. The center is equipped with five administrative offices, one dance room, two preschool centers, two multiple purpose rooms, board room, restrooms, mechanical room, and general storage areas. The center has rooms available for rent and takes registration six days per week. BACK TO TOP

PYRCE PARK — 16th and Wesley Avenue GOOGLE MAP
Pyrce Park was acquired from the City of Berwyn in 1979. Various minor improvements were made at the park until 1992, at which time a master plan to redevelop the facility was initiated. In 2003 the old wading pool was replaced with a new Spray pool. Renovations were also made to the playground equipment. Components contained within the 2 acre facility include a spray pool, two age-specific modular play units, a swingset, pergola structure, benches, shade trees, ornamental trees, flowering shrubs, and garden areas. The park received it’s name in July 1996 in recognition of Leona Pyrce, one of the founders of the agency. BACK TO TOP

CULTURAL CENTER/16TH STREET THEATER — 6420 W 16TH GOOGLE MAP
This location owned by the City of Berwyn was made available for use by the North Berwyn Park District through an intergovernmental agreement. This facility will be used to house music and art programs as well as senior activities. BACK TO TOP

BERWYN GARDENS — Between Grove and Maple north of Cermak Avenue
Berwyn Gardens is an award-winning park that was developed in 1997 as a six parcel linear outdoor recreational area. Components contained within the 3.1 acre facility include game tables, a gazebo and shelter, two age-specific modular playsets, a sand volleyball court, garden areas, benches, shade trees, ornamental trees, flowering shrubs, and rolling berms. The park was constructed on the old vacin fairway, which was donated by the City of Berwyn.

In January 1998, commissioners and staff received an award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts for Berwyn Gardens being the outstanding facility constructed during 1997. The park received it’s name in recognition of the beautiful gardens that are representative of the residential units throughout the community.

Berwyn Gardens is home to various special events: Movies in the Park, Concerts in the Park, Dancing Under the Stars, the Children’s Entertainment Series, the Halloween Pumpkin Patch, and the Easter Egg Hunt. BACK TO TOP

The maintenance building construction was completed in late Spring of 2000. It is equipped with an office area, two vehicle bays, one service bay, mechanical room, indoor/outdoor restrooms, and general storage area. BACK TO TOP

PRAIRIE OAK COMMUNITY GYMNASIUM — 15th and Oak Park Avenue

This new gymnasium was made possible by an intergovenmental agreement with school district 98. This facility is used for various athletic programs, the SOS after school program, soccer, volleyball, basketball and special events. BACK TO TOP

This new location is owned by school district 98 and was made available for use by the North Berwyn Park District through an intergovernmental agreement. This park was converted to an artificial surface; the park is used for daily physical activities, t-ball, soccer, flag football, and various other activities. This innovative facility is a welcome addition to the community and was made possible through an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Berwyn. This park is open seasonally and will serve our teens and adults for many years to come. Hours are Monday - Friday from 2:30 pm - Dusk and Weekends from 9am - Dusk. BACK TO TOP

ST. MARY OF CELLE BASEBALL FIELD — 14th and Euclid GOOGLE MAP
This location owned by the Archdiocese of Chicago was made available for use by the North Berwyn Park District through a lease agreement. Various teams will have access to the field for Little League games as well as park district special events. BACK TO TOP
