Corrida del Mariachi 5K Wraps Up with Record-Breaking Attendance and Community Spirit

The Corrida del Mariachi 5K celebrated another unforgettable year this past Saturday, bringing together over 1,700 runners, 50 local vendors, 61 sponsors, and more than 10,000 spectators in the heart of Berwyn. What began as a community race has grown into one of the area’s most vibrant cultural and athletic celebrations.

From the lively start line to the music-filled finish, participants and visitors enjoyed a day filled with energy, tradition, and unity. The event highlighted Berwyn’s cultural pride, welcoming participants from across the Chicagoland area and beyond.    
“This is one of the top events in the City of Berwyn” said mayor Robert Lovero.

“We are truly humbled by the support of our community and partners,” said Joseph C. Vallez, Executive Director of the North Berwyn Park District. “This event continues to grow because of the passion and dedication of our runners, volunteers, sponsors, and the incredible City of Berwyn.”

The City of Berwyn’s North Berwyn Park District (NBPD) played a critical role in the event’s success. The NBPD worked tirelessly since April to ensure the race was safe, smooth, and enjoyable for all attendees.

The Corrida del Mariachi 5K not only celebrates fitness but also honors culture, music, and community.
With mariachi performances, local food vendors, and family-friendly activities, the event brought together people of all ages in a day of shared joy and tradition.
