North Berwyn Park District Opens New Indoor Playground!

BERWYN, IL –

On Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 10:00 am, The North Berwyn Park District held the Grand Opening of our new Indoor Playground Space located inside the Studio at 6300 W 19^th St.Berwyn, IL 60402. The North Berwyn Park District Board of Commissioners: Jim Kearns Jr. President, Jeanmarie Hajer-O’Connor Vice President, Mark Sladek Treasurer, John Kearns Commissioner, Janet Mackin Commissioner and Executive Director Joseph C. Vallez, along with the City of Berwyn Alderman: Scott Lennon 1^st Ward Alderman, Mary Beth Arenella 7^th Ward Alderman and Joe Carmichael 8^th Ward Alderman welcomed the over 50 residents who came out with their anxious toddlers to enjoy and play in this unique play space.

This new Indoor Playground was created for children from crawlers to the age of 5 to have a safe area to release all their energy as well as a gathering place for families within the community to interact.

The Indoor Playground will be open seasonally from March 6- May 31, 2023 and we will reopen for the Fall through Winter months September 11, 2023-May 29, 2024.

‍

The Indoor Playground will serve as host to our Munchkins in Motion Open Gym held on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are currently in a 4-week session that ends March 29. Our Spring Session will begin April 10 and go through May 31 with an added Saturday session.

Joseph Vallez, Executive Director stated, “ We are bringing things to you, that you don’t have to leave your community to enjoy. The partnership between the Park District, the City, and the School District working together on your behalf is something that we pride ourselves on.”

Joe Carmichael, 8^th Ward Alderman stated, “I think programs like this give families in our community a variety of options to engage with their children and their neighbors. As a father with young children, I am looking forward to taking advantage of this program.”
