North Berwyn Park District Welcomes New Commissioner, Veronica Cortes

Berwyn, IL – The North Berwyn Park District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Veronica Cortes to the Board of Commissioners. Mrs. Cortes will fill a recently vacated seat, bringing a renewed energy and commitment to the Park District’s mission of enriching the lives of North Berwyn residents through high-quality parks and recreational programming.

A longtime resident of North Berwyn, Mrs. Cortes has dedicated many years to community service and civic engagement. Her background in leadership and passion for public service position her as a strong advocate for inclusive, community-driven initiatives.

Mrs. Cortes will be officially sworn in at the next regularly scheduled NBPD Board Meeting, to be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Joseph C. Vallez Activity Center.

“I am passionate about giving back to the community that has given so much to my family, and I believe serving as a North Berwyn Park District Commissioner is a meaningful way to do that,” said Mrs. Cortes. “I bring a collaborative spirit and a deep commitment to serving the people of North Berwyn with integrity and care.”

Mrs. Cortes will serve the remainder of the current term and will be eligible to run for election in April 2027.
